How to Undo Dont Ask Me Again
I ofttimes make the misstake of accidentally checking the "don't evidence this message again" checkbox when using tab and spacebar to navigate. Since I'thou asking to never see the bulletin again, undoing that action is usually hard. Sometimes, it'due south hidden abroad under settings somewhere, and sometimes it's nowhere to be found.
What's a good style to allow users to undo "don't evidence this over again" actions?

A tenet of good user feel in software is system feedback. In this instance, the organization should confirm it will no longer show y'all notifications... which is a practiced place to offer an undo option, as well as tell them where they can change their preferences.

I like this answer and love the UI of the popups, only am I the only one that finds information technology ironic that a popup tip appears to tell you that you chose to see no more popup tips?

Personally, I detect this solution doesn't work at all. You're showing this data once at a time that I don't care nigh it (obviously I'm disabling the warning because I don't call up I demand information technology over again). Months subsequently, when I want to contrary that decision, there'south very petty chance I'll recall what that message said.

Another way, depending on the message type, could exist to replace "Don't prove this message once again" by "Don't terminate on this <whatsoever> any more", which is in fact what the user wants.
And then, the user could be notified (for instance by stacking the letters in a notifications area) but the activeness wouldn't be halted only for a brusk while (similar 700ms) in order to let the user to react when needed.
A [finish] push would show in the communications expanse for the user to regain control whenever he sees fit.

I remember he's suggesting replacing a modal bulletin with a non-modal in a notification pane.

Steve is right. There are occasions when the user volition not desire to exist stopped past a repeating modal message, but might anyway desire to see daid messages. The proposition is, subsequently the user opted not to be stopped each fourth dimension, to stack said messages in a notification pane. IMO this pane might take a [stop] push for the user to recover control when needed.

Funny thing is, and then nosotros need the same matter for the notifications, considering that small scarlet badge drives me crazy, so I accept to marking them as read, even the ones i didn't desire to run into
